Walking
From Harvard
Square (the Harvard stop on the Red line of the T): Proceed north along the left
side of Massachusetts Ave. with Harvard's brick wall and iron gates on your right. Cross
Church Street. Cross Garden Street into the Cambridge Common and follow path along Mass
Ave. to the end of the Common. Turn left on Waterhouse Street and go about 20 yards.
Follen Street is a right turn just past the Christian Science Church. Elmbrook is number
25, a large white house on the right with a bright red door, just past where the street
turns to the left.
Driving
From the North
or South of Boston:
Take Rt 93 North or South into Boston to Storrow Drive, and take Storrow Drive west to
Harvard Square. On Storrow, stay to the right at first or you will end up on left exits
you don't want. Go towards Newton, but get off at Harvard. Once you get off Storrow Drive,
take a right onto John F. Kennedy Street and go to Massachusetts Ave. Go through Harvard
Square past the Out-of-Town-News stand, past the Harvard Gates on your right, and then
stay to the left lane to double back toward the Square on Mass Ave heading south. Take an
immediate sharp right onto Garden Street and go two long blocks to the Sheraton Commander
Hotel. At the Sheraton, turn right on Waterhouse Street. Go several hundred feet, and turn
left onto Follen Street. On Follen St. Elmbrook is the second house on the right after the
bend to the left, a white house with a red door. From Storrow Drive to Elmbrook is about
1/2 mile total. If you get lost, ask directions to the Sheraton Commander Hotel. We are
less than a block from the hotel.
From the west:
Take route 90, the Mass Pike, to the Cambridge/Allston exit, which is a left exit. Go
through the tolls, stay right, towards Cambridge, and you will come to a set of two lights
in front of a bridge across the river. Take a left at the second light, which is just
before the bridge, go through one light, and get on Storrow Drive (possibly also called
Soldiers Field Road at that point) going west. Get off almost immediately, at the first
exit and go right, across a bridge into Harvard Square. This will be John F. Kennedy
Street. Proceed as shown above.
